ASUS hints at Android 6.0 Marshmallow rollout for PadFone and ZenFone
For now ASUS has not provided a timeline for its Android 6.0 update, meaning that it is not exactly a roadmap.
While Lenovo, HTC, Sony and many other brands have already revealed their Android 6.0 Marshmallow update roadmap, it was expected that something official came from another Android smartphone maker, ASUS.A post from the official ASUS ZenTalk forums has revealed that ASUS does have plans to upgrade its smartphones to Android 6.0 Marshmallow (with the Zen UI of course). But for now there is no timeline attached to it, meaning that it is not exactly a roadmap. For now, ASUS ZenFone and PadFone owners can at least hope for an update as ASUS has remained mum about the same since Google announced Android Marshmallow. As for the handsets that are expected to be updated to latest version of Android, it includes the ASUS PadFoneS (PF500KL), ZenFone2 (ZE550ML/ZE551ML), ZenFone2 Deluxe / Special Edition (ZE551ML), ZenFone2 Laser (ZE500KG/ZE500KL/ZE550KL/ZE600KL/ZE601KL), ZenFone Selfie (ZD551KL).So for now only the smartphones mentioned above will be updated Android 6.0 Marshmallow. As for the remainder, owners will have to wait and watch the ZenTalk forums for more information.Android 6.0 Marshmallow brings revamped app permissions, official fingerprint scanner support and Google Now on Tap to name a few features. In addition, Marshmallow also improves battery life with Doze to let you put your smartphone to deep sleep when it's not in use, resulting in low power usage.
