Apple's tenth anniversary iPhone will feature 5-inches of usable screen space, debut to be delayed: Report

The iPhone 8 is supposed to be a revolutionary new design as far as iPhones are concerned. It’s supposed to commemorate the tenth of the iPhone after all. The phone is expected to launch alongside the updated iPhone 7, but a new rumour now suggests otherwise.PhoneRadar claims to have sources in Japan which tell them that the new iPhone will debut “way after” the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus, which should be in September.The news doesn’t end there. The new iPhone is apparently called the Apple iPhone Edition, which seems like a pointless name, but then you must remember the super-expensive Apple Watch Edition, which features premium materials.

Interestingly, the source also suggests that the new iPhone will have only 5-inches of “usable” space. While the phone is supposed to have a 5.8-inch screen, it seems that the rest of the real estate will be used for functional areas like buttons. Whatever the case, even 5-inches of screen real estate isn’t actually bad. It’s s a little less than the 5.5-inches on the iPhone 7 Plus and a little more than the 4.7-inches on the iPhone 7.It’s also not certain if the new phone will feature and LCD screen or an OLED one. Prototypes apparently use both types of displays.Whatever happens, we simply hope that the iPhone 8 lives up to the insane amount of hype that’s building up around the device.
