Apple Watch now available for pre-order; starts at Rs 36,999 in India

The Apple Watch is yet to make its official debut in India, but e-commerce portals have already started taking pre-orders for Apple's smartwatch. The device can be pre-ordered at a starting price of Rs 36,999 in India.E-commerce site Grabmore.in is now taking pre-orders for the Apple Watch a starting price of Rs 36,999 for the 38mm sport model while the 42mm variant with the same specification can be pre-ordered at Rs 42,199. The most expensive variant for the Apple Watch is priced at an approximate Rs 17,68,700.The Apple Watch officially hits the Indian market on 6 November, almost six months after becoming available globally. Apple Watch is the first new product category to be launched ever since Tim Cook took over the reins of the company after Steve Jobs stepped down. It is also the first new device category since 2010, when Apple entered the tablet market with its iPad.

Apple Watch serves as a timepiece and can be personalised with watch faces ranging from traditional analog with the Chronograph or Modular, and animated butterflies or jellyfish on the Motion face. It goes beyond telling time with specialised functions on the watch face with the sunrise/sunset, upcoming calendar events or daily activity level. Users can simply swipe up from the watch face for ‘Glances’ that quickly show you information you care about. It could be anything from weather forecast and current location to the music you’re listening to.For health and fitness, it comes with the Activity app that gives simple visual snapshot of your daily activity with three rings that measure active calories burned, brisk activity and how often you stand or take a break. Using the Workout app, it also provides detailed metrics required during workout sessions for activities like walking, running and cycling.
