Apple to fix critical Telugu character bug before upcoming iOS 11.3 update

Reuters.[/caption]Engadget has confirmed that Apple is working on a fixing this critical Telugu character bug and it will arrive sooner than the upcoming iOS 11.3 update, meaning that users will not have to wait for too long.The source confirmed that Apple is working on similar updates for macOS and watchOS that will come out "ahead of their next scheduled major updates". Apple did not comment on the timeframe, but we can expect these to show up sooner than later.The critical bug is triggered by a particular Telugu character. When rendered in a text field in (be it messaging, emails, social networkings apps etc.) will cause the app to crash. Obviously, the same also works when someone sends the message to you, meaning that one message to a WhatsApp group should be enough to take down several connected iPhones.First reported by MobileWorld, the bug is said to affect macOS and watchOS as well, since the data is relayed between iPhone and the other systems.While app crashes are fine, it's the notifications system that causes havoc. If you receive a notification that includes the character, Springboard (the bit of iOS software that manages notifications) will reset. If you reboot your iPhone before Springboard resets, your phone goes into a boot loop and will simply refuse to start up.Your only option to rescue your phone, is to go into Device Firmware Update (DFU) mode, wipe your phone and reinstall iOS. The next step is to restore from a previously made backup (from iCloud or PC) provided you have created one.
