'Apple Support Communities', Now at Your Service

Yesterday, Apple fused life into its discussion forum communities, which was the haven for all Mac users. This time, however, it has ceased to remain a mere community forum, and has gone to become a full-fledged social-based site.

Called the Apple Support Communities, this new forum promises to be user-centric to the core. Although, the forum has gone through some serious chops and additions, the basic organization of the forum has been preserved to its organized best. Pretty much like the previous version, the current version, too has a separate section for each of Apple’s products. Users can click on the specific product category and comment, only this time it’s titled as ‘communities’. In these communities, users can trigger discussion boards, like before.

Meet like-minded people

The highlight, however, are the several new additions that have been incorporated into the new, improved site. These features include personal RSS feeds, subscriptions, and notifications, among others. Apple Support Communities also makes provisions for enabling popularity-based tagging on comments. According to this feature, if an existing discussion board/post already features the possible answer to your question, then you’ll be re-directed to that page without any delay, thereby also reducing duplication of posts.

Although, navigation through the site seemed easier, Apple has a ‘How it Works’ system in place, should you have any problems finding your way through.
