Apple sues back Creative in Retaliation

Apple Computer has counter attacked Creative by filing a lawsuit of copyright infringement against it, the same day it was sued by Creative. Apple claims that Creative has infringed on four patents and is seeking damages in the Wisconsin Federal Court. According to Creative however, Apple never mentioned these patents when the two companies held discussions with each other.Although the details of the lawsuit were not provided to the public, it is clear that this move will raise the stakes for Creative in the ongoing legal battle. Apple, being a bigger player, controls 77% of the US portable music player market where as Creative has just 10% of the market share. Such a lawsuit may have a disastrous effect on Creative, although it has plans to go ahead with the lawsuit.
