The Apple SIM gives users the flexibility to choose from a variety of short-term plans from select carriers. The data-only SIM  comes preinstalled on iPad Air 2 Wi-Fi + Cellular models.This means that if you are unhappy with your service provider, you can switch your carrier without the hassle of going to the store and getting a new subscription. The switch can be made at the comfort of your living room. This feature can also rescue you from your data woes while travelling. You can opt for the best plan in the local area for a short term and switch back to your old carrier whenever you like.The feature will be available only to those residing in the US and UK as of now and users can switch between AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile in the US and EE in the UK.The Apple SIM is currently available only for the new iPad, but it would be great to have this option available for iPhones as well. Not only would it give consumers a convenient method for picking the best services, but it would also push service providers to improve their services to survive the competition.
