From what is known so far, it looks like OS X Mavericks is the first California-themed release from Apple. The company, having left the older naming convention behind, told the audience at WWDC that it drew inspiration from the places that the new OS X was designed in. in terms of features, it looks like OS X 10.9 will come with a tabbed Finder window. The new OS will also include tags supports, basically meaning that documents and folders can now be tagged on the user’s Mac. The company has also worked out multiple display support on the latest desktop OS.
The company has also aligned the work of the computer’s power transitions, thereby reducing CPU activity by up to 72 percent. In addition, the compressed memory featured will allow rapid compression of free memory to increase response time. The new OS will also come with support for Apple Maps and iBooks. The notification center has also been tweaked, now coming with a quick reply feature as well as a way to receive mobile push notifications on the desktop. While the developer preview of the new OS has been out since June, it is hoped that the final version will be rolled out to users in the coming weeks.
