Apple releases fix for OS X Mavericks Mail bug

OS X Mavericks users are in for good news. Apple has released a Mail Update for the OS that has been designed to resolve many issues and bugs that users had been facing since launch day. The issue that had been a niggling one with users of Gmail seems to be fixed now.

The Mail Update for Mavericks 1.0 is a software update that is bringing along enhanced compatibility with Gmail accounts now. Users who had custom Gmail settings in place had been finding it hard to delete, move and archive messages, and this update moves to fix it. It also addresses an issue that may cause unread mail counts to be inaccurate. There are also additional fixes that improve the compatibility and stability of Mail.

Apple advises that you back up your system before attempting to install this software update. The company also warns that you may experience unexpected results if you have third-party system software mods installed or if you’ve modified the operation system through other means. Head on to Software Update through the Apple menu to check for this update and install it.

After the problem with the Mail app appeared early on, Apple began testing this update internally amongst its employees as well as ones who had signed on to the AppleSeed programme last week. This software update will hopefully fix issues for Gmail users on
