Apple Pay coming to mobile web later this year: Report

Apple is all set to bring its Apple Pay to Safari browser later this year, according to a report by Re/code. With this move, Apple will allow users to make purchases from mobile websites. This mobile payment system will be made available to iPhone as well as iPad owners, with devices supporting fingerprint scanner. Citing sources, the report adds that Apple has said this new feature will be made available for users before the holiday season. "The move would pit Apple more directly against PayPal, which is a popular alternative payment method on countless retail websites. PayPal offers a mobile payment product for websites and apps called One Touch, which is used by more than 250 of the top 500 online retailers," points out Re/code.Apple has been tight lipped about the developments and there is no official word yet.This piece of news follows the recent announcements of the company's new 4-inch iPhone SE and 9.7-inch iPad Pro. Apple’s pricey new iPhone 5s look-a-like, the iPhone SE will come to India on April 8.In India, Apple announced that the official retail price would be Rs 39,000 for the 16GB variant. It will come in four colours such as silver, gold, Space Grey and Rose Gold.
