Apple announces new iOS app design and development accelerator in Bengaluru

In the wake of imminent visit by Apple CEO Tim Cook to India, Apple has announced New iOS App Design and Development Accelerator in Bengaluru.This will the first of it's kind in India geared towards supporting developers in creating Innovative Mobile Apps for Apple Ecosystem. Apple will establish the Accelerator in Bengaluru in hope of engaging tens of thousands of iOS Developers and Start-Ups.“India is home to one of the most vibrant and entrepreneurial iOS development communities in the world,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO.“Apple’s investment in Bengaluru through its iOS Development Accelerator will have far-reaching effects for the area’s rapidly growing and highly talented developer community,” said NASSCOM President R Chandrashekhar.The workings of the Accelerator have been provided by Apple where Apple experts will lead briefings and one-on-one app reviews every week. Apple plans to provide specialized support in Swift, Programming language created by Apple to target the iOS devices and Linux.“Apple’s expert guidance on the interface and user experience has helped us build an app that our consumers love. We are thrilled Apple will have a local presence which will amplify our efforts to develop more high-quality apps for our digital commerce ecosystem,” said Snapdeal co-founder and CEO Kunal Bahl.The iOS App Design and Development Accelerator is expected to start in early 2017 and this announcement is just a precursor to Tim Cook's visit, expected to commence later today.
