Apple announces $299 iPad for students at education event along with new $49 Crayon stylus

At its closed education event, Apple today announced an all-new iPad model that is priced at $329 along with a new Logitech-made Crayon stylus that is priced at $49 for the US market. While consumers can pick one up at the above-mentioned sticker price, students can now pick up one at a discounted $299.[caption id="attachment_4408425" align="alignleft" width="380"] The new Apple iPad now supports the Apple Pencil. Apple[/caption]According to The Verge, Apple's new iPad is very similar to the current models, and comes with the same 9.7-inch display with the usual thick bezels. Also included in the package is a Touch ID sensor, the usual buttons and both an HD FaceTime camera and an 8 MP rear-facing cameras. The tablet will be available in silver, Space Gray and a new gold finish and comes with LTE and Apple A10 Fusion chip.The new and interesting bit with the new affordable iPad model is that it now supports the Apple Pencil that will now be priced at $89 for students instead of the regular $99 price tag.While it's not the budget iPad many were expecting Apple has made the package affordable for students and teachers despite still being more expensive than Google's Chromebooks in the US market.[caption id="attachment_4408429" align="alignnone" width="1280"] The new Apple iPad now in Gold. Apart from the above, the Cupertino giant also announced that it boost its free iCloud offering for students from the paltry 5 GB to 200 GB, making it easier for them to backup their documents and photos to the cloud.
