AMD to Rename CrossFire Xpress Chipsets
AMD will be renaming the two performance chipsets, ATI Crossfire Xpress 1600 and ATI Crossfire 3200 according to their latest roadmap.
AMD will be renaming the two performance chipsets, ATI Crossfire Xpress 1600 and ATI Crossfire 3200 according to their latest roadmap.
If you remember, this is the second time that the ATI Xpress 1600 chipset is being renamed. Prior to the ATI CrossFire 1600 it was known as the Xpress 200 CrossFire. It will now be known as AMD 480X CrossFire. Features remain the same with two half-speed PCI Express 16x slots with a PCIe link to the SB450, SB460 or SB600 south bridges.
AMD's top of the line ATI CrossFire 3200 will be renamed AMD 580X CrossFire. Again, features here remain the same. The chipset supports two full-speed PCI Express 16x slots with a PCIe link to the SB450, SB460 or SB600 south bridges.
