Amazon India, which has the exclusive rights to sell Micromax's Yu Yureka in the country, addressed a glitch in their sale that took place this week. During the sale, a few users were asked to pay Rs. 12,499, which is higher than the launch price of Rs. 8,999. Users who managed to complete the purchase successfully, had to shell out Rs 3,500 more than the actual price of the smartphone. As pointed out by NDTV Gadgets, Amazon apologised for this glitch with the following tweet:
Earlier reports suggest that Micromax had sold 10000 Yu Yureka smartphones in a matter of three seconds. This was hardly unexpected given that the company had put up only 10,000 units of the smartphone, while over 3 lakh users had registered for the sale on Amazon. As far as the performance of this phone is concerned, we had noted in our review that this phone could be a game-changer in the budget category.Another tweet by Amazon said that the Micromax Yu Yureka smartphone will go on sale again on 22nd January, though it did not reveal how many will be selling this time.
