After t.book, Smartron to launch t.phone in India on 19 May

Smartron has begun sending out invites to the media for the official launch of its smartphone that now been scheduled for May 19.

Smartron had announced its t.book in India at a reasonable Rs 39,999 in March. Back then, the company also unveiled its first smartphone, but there were no details given about its launch date. Now, Smartron has begun sending out invites to the media for the official launch of its smartphone which is scheduled for May 19.Smartron T PhoneWhile the invites, are out, what has yet to be confirmed are the official specifications. According to The Mobile Indian, the t.phone will pack in a 5.5-inch Full HD display. The device is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset and paired with 3GB of RAM. Expect 32GB of internal storage, but as of now there are no details whether the smartphone will support external SD cards. Coming to the cameras, the t.phone is expected to arrive with a 12MP rear camera and 4MP front-facing unit.Smartron t phoneThe handset will pack in 4G bands and also dual SIM support, along with the usual connectivity options. Indeed, none of these specifications can be confirmed for now so we would advice you to take the same with a pinch of salt.As per reports, the Smartron t.phone will be marketed as the lightest 5.5-inch Android smartphone around, by the company. The recently launched t.book features an all-metal unibody with dual tone styling that looks pretty similar to Microsoft’s Surface lineup. Smartron claims that it can function as a complete workstation, thanks to its full-size foldable keyboard and hinged kickstand.
