After iPhone, Getit launches BlackBerry app

Getit, the local information app launched its iPhone application a little over a week ago and now has launched a BlackBerry application.

Getit, the local information app launched its iPhone application a little over a week ago and now has launched a BlackBerry application. Much like Google Places, with Getit, you can find places like restaurants and movie theaters, as well as services like real estate agents, lawyers and air conditioning mechanics. The app uses GPS to detect the location of places where these services might be needed. It has quick links to popular categories and it refines search based on attributes and location. It also features an interactive map with directions and allows you to call businesses with a single tap or click, depending on your phone.

The Getit apps for iOS and BlackBerry are both free. The iOS version is available for download from the iOS App Store and the BlackBerry version from BlackBerry Store. Alternatively, both apps are also available for download from the Getit website itself.
