After ditching audio jack on iPhone 7, Apple surveys MacBook Pro users

It seems Apple is keen on getting the audio jack off its portfolio of products. Just last week, Apple launched the iPhone 7 smartphone, which had done away with the standard 3.5mm audio jack. And now, according to a report on MacRumors, Apple is surveying users of the MacBook Pro to check if they use the headphone jack and other ports on their computer.After the recent iPhone 7 launch, many users online were complaining about the exclusion of the audio jack. It's also worth noting that the existing MacBook only provides users with a single USB type C port (and a 3.55mm headphone jack, thankfully). With the lack of standard USB ports, it already is an effort juggling between data transfer operations and charging the device.The MacBook Pro, up until now continued to offer users the convenience of USB type-C, FireWire, Thunderbolt as well as a standard audio jack. The fact that Apple is now sending out a survey to gauge whether users make use of those ports hints at a change in the approach the company is taking towards its MacBook lineup.Apple is expected to announced a revised MacBook lineup later this year, and also make macOS Sierra, the new operating system for Mac computers.
