Acer launches Liquid Jade, Liquid E700 smartphones in India

IT company Acer has restarted its smartphone business in India in partnership with Snapdeal and launched two new mobile devices.Snapdeal.com will retail two smartphone models under the Acer Liquid Series - the Liquid Jade, and the Liquid E700.The Acer Liquid Jade is available for Rs.16,999 and the Acer Liquid 700 is available for Rs.11,999."Mobiles and tablets are one of the fastest growing segments for Snapdeal.com with customers becoming more feature- and value-conscious. Acer is globally known for its performance and smart computing systems, they are now entering the Indian smartphone market and we are happy to partner with them in this journey," said Abhishek Passi, vice president for business strategy at Snapdeal.com."At Snapdeal.com, we are constantly on the lookout for offering our customers great value buys and Acer smartphones are a valuable addition to our smartphone category," he said.Recent reports suggest that Snapdeal was to receive over $600 million from SoftBank investments. Highlighting India as a new priority in its aggressive expansion, SoftBank said that it is also leading a $210 million round of investment in an Indian logistics business in a separate deal.SoftBank said it will become New Delhi-based Snapdeal’s biggest investor, but officials at the Japanese company declined to say immediately how big the stake in India’s third-biggest online marketplace will be.Snapdeal has more than 25 million registered users and more than 50,000 business sellers, according to a statement by SoftBank.With inputs from IANS
