Datawind, better known as the maker of the Aakash tablet, has expanded its tablet lineup in India with three budget devices. The company has launched the UbiSlate 7Cx, UbiSlate 3G7 and UbiSlate 9Ci. The 7Cx supports voice calling while the 3G7 is its first 3G-enabled tablet. The company has also forayed into the large 9-inch display space with the 9Ci.

Datawind's first 3G-enabled tablet UbiSlate 3G7 is priced at Rs 6,999. It provides broadband speeds with an embedded UMTS modem, without the need for external dongles. This 7-inch tablet is powered by a 1.2GHz Cortex A8 processor, with 512MB RAM. Just like the 7Cx, the 3G7 also runs on Android 4.0.4.

The UbiSlate 9Ci sporting a large 9-inch display is priced affordably under Rs. 5,000. Datawind has powered it with a 1GHz Cortex A9 processor coupled with 512MB RAM. It gets the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean version of the Android operating system.

Datawind tablets come pre-installed with a range of educational, entertainment and utility apps. It brings content for all age groups and also features a free E-Book App for Class 1 to 12 NCERT for English, Hindi & Urdu medium. Some other such apps and features include, Test Preparation Tool, Free Higher Education & Soft-Skill Courses powered by CEC London, English language learning tools, Interactive multimedia-rich educational resources, Bollywood Music and Movies, Antivirus and Anti-theft Pack by E-Scan, MapMyIndia Navigation and more.
All of the new models are now available through the Ubislate site. The site claims to ship the devices within 3 to 5 days once the order is placed.
