We are not sure this is entirely a good thing.

— OPPO (@oppo) December 26, 2013A 5.5-inch display with 2560 x 1440 pixels of resolution (commonly known as 2K) would translate into a massive pixel density of 538ppi, miles ahead of anything else in the market currently. The current top handsets are featuring around 380 to 440ppi, with the HTC One going up to aroudn 469ppi. The device is also said to sport a slim bezel and come powered by the Snapdragon 804 chipset. It is also rumoured to include 3GB of RAM. It is also said to the company’s first smartphone to support 4G.
Looks like, the year 2014 will see manufacturers surpass 1080p displays and aim for the 2K resolution. Last month, China's Vivo had teased its Xplay 3S smartphone with 2K display. Recently, benchmark revealed a 2K display for Samsung Galaxy S5 too.
The Oppo 7 will be the successor to the Oppo 5, which was launched last year sporting a 5-inch 1080p display, one of the first handsets to do so. So looks like Oppo is looking at the Find series as an introduction to some of the newest display technology in the market. The company is likely to announce the Find 7 in January 2014, but there's no word on whether the phone will be available outside China.
