Apple CEO Tim Cook has announced that the company has sold 13 million Apple TVs so far, according to a report by The Next Web. Cook who made this announcement at the All Things D conference in Palos Verdes, CA, added that half of those were sold in the last year itself. "It continues to be an area of great interest for us," he said, adding that their work around the product has provided them with insight and information that they wouldn't have had otherwise.

Speaking about the way people view TV today, Cook said, "It’s not an experience that you would say has been brought up to date for this decade…”. When asked for details in relation Apple's future plans for technology in the living room, Cook jokingly said, "I don’t want to give anybody else any ideas that they don’t already have." 13 million sold so far!

Cook had announced earlier this year that the company had managed to sell 2 million Apple TVs in the third quarter, that was reportedly more than what the company had ever managed to sell before.

After a couple of weeks worth of delay, Apple TV finally hit Indian stores in March this year. Apple retailer Maple confirmed with tech2 that the streaming device is available in its stores for Rs 8,275.
