Friday the 13th The Game, developed by Gun Media, released on 26 May, 2017 on Microsoft Windows, Xbox One and PS4, amidst heavy criticism over several problems related its online servers. The issues only seem to be getting worse with time. The game's servers are functioning poorly even after three days of the release of the game. In many cases, the server’s issues have worsened as many people lost connection to the servers completely after getting connected the first time. Servers on PS4 and Steam have reportedly been affected the most.Friday the 13th: The Game is a survival horror video game developed by IllFonic, and published by Gun Media. It is based on the franchise of the same name owned by New Line Cinema. The game is an asymmetrical multiplayer game, pitting up to seven players controlling Camp Crystal Lake counselors against one player controlling Jason Voorhees. If you haven't seen the movie, the previous sentence might sound like gibberish to you. While Friday the 13th runs relatively smooth once you get into a game, actually connecting to one is no easy task. A private match mode in the game requires a connection to eight players and with limited knowledge of who has bought the game, the usual option is Quick play, which is completely busted.
The most prominent issue with Friday the 13th The Game is long wait times for matchmaking, and the problem has multiplied after users reported a complete database login failure error. Essentially, this prevents players from even logging into the game, and renders the app useless. Another major problem the game is that any experience earned during matches is not being added to players. So even if a player manages to get past the database login failures, any progress they make won’t be recorded.
The official word from the developers is aimed at reassuring the users that everything is being done to fix the server problems. The developers have even released a complete list of known issues, promising to fix them as soon as possible.Long queue times, weird bugs, and now, struggles just to log into the game, are flaws that are hard to overlook, especially for a game that is multiplayer focused.
