Tech2.Games S01E14: Thrash metal rosé, ghost wars, edgy trailers and PUBG crying foul!

Tech2.Games[/caption]For some reason, the NYSE YouTube channel had a video up with an interview with Dave Mustaine, the founding member and frontman of thrash metal band Megadeth.Mustaine was physically present at the New York Stock Exchange (yes, you read that correctly), promoting their new record ‘Dystopia’, the Megadeth VR experience, Megadeth beer and wine, and a video game encompassing the band’s history featuring a bunch of Dave’s unused guitar riffs. I should point out that it isn’t the first time a band has ventured into the video game space, with Aerosmith, Judas Priest and Iron Maiden having done it previously.  I started watching this interview expecting to be mildly amused but ended up enjoying it more than expected—if nothing else, I left more informed than at the start. It’s a strange place to catch up on four years of Megadeth news, but if you’re a fan, check it out.Ghost Recon Wildlands’ PvP mode is free to play right nowWhether you’ve sunk some time into Wildlands’ campaign or not, this new PvP mode if worth checking out if you like tactical team based shooters.Granted, it’s a bit campy, and the few games I played ended up having more long-range engagements than otherwise, the “Ghost War” PvP mode looks and plays great, with the game engine really shining in the wide-open maps (in an effort to create an anti-Rainbow 6 Siege, it would seem).Fake trailer for CSGO fighting game is awesomeIt took Chris Le two whole months of animation to create this insane trailer for Counter-Strike Fighter Alpha.I would drop full price for this in a heartbeat if it ever got made.PUBG creators are not digging Fortnite doing a battle royale modeBluehole, the publisher of Steam sensation Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds is getting a little insecure about the announcement that Epic’s Unreal Engine-powered Fortnite will be releasing a 100-player PvP mode quite literally called “Battle Royale”.  Vice President Chang Han Kim believed that Fortnite “may be replicating the experience for which PUBG is known”, and that Bluehole were considering “further action” on the matter”.The public test is available for all Fortnite players, and will feature the familiar last player standing mode, combined with Fortnite’s building mechanics.South Park: The Fractured But Whole trailer might be a little too edgyUbisoft’s next South Park game is all set for an October 17^th release, having gone gold. Expectedly, there’s a trailer to go with this announcement where the crosshairs are clearly set on Kanye West and his video game “Only One”. Hilarious or offensive? Watch for yourself and decide.South Park has a long-running gag with the Kanye West-inspired fish character,  and with South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker not ones to shy away from controversy, this should come as no surprise.‘Tis a good week for grand strategyThis week’s one to rejoice for fans of grand strategy games, thanks to Steam’s Stardock and Paradox publisher weekend. Grab everything from Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation to Galactic Civilizations 3 and Offworld Trading Company at healthy discounts. The story trailer for Call of Duty WW2 sets things up nicely, creating all at once an atmosphere of camaraderie, personal stakes and a villain deserving of your hate.With the multiplayer looking pretty average (in my opinion), the campaign could be this game’s saving grace.
