Red Dead Redemption finally makes it to Xbox One
Red Dead Redemption joins the ranks of Uncharted 3, Bloodborne and Zelda as one of the few console games that tempt me to abandon the PC Master Race and join the console peasants.
Red Dead Redemption joins the ranks of Uncharted 3, Bloodborne and Zelda as one of the few console games that tempt me to abandon the PC Master Race and join the console peasants. The game, released in 2010, can best be described as GTA meets spaghetti western, only better. It doesn’t hurt that the game has been developed by the makers of GTA, Rockstar Games themselves. The game has sold millions of copies, 14 million at last count, and as Wikipedia points out, it’s considered to be one of the greatest games of all time. I wholeheartedly support that notion, and that’s despite only spending an hour with the game. It’s disheartening that a game this good is a PS3 and Xbox 360 exclusive.Microsoft has heard the plea of gamers however and Red Dead Redemption is now available on the Xbox One. As part of the Xbox One backward compatibility program, if you own a physical or digital copy of Red Dead Redemption, you will be able to play the enhanced version on the Xbox One.If you own a digital edition of the game, you simply login to your Xbox Live account and the game will be available for download. If you own the DVD version, you’ll need to pop the disc into your console to activate a download.Following this news, it’s been reported that sales of the game went up by over 6,000 percent! Understandable, considering the iconic nature of the game. Even more understandable when you consider that the game is currently on sale on the Xbox Store for as little as Rs 354.The game’s DLCs and expansion packs, including Undead Nightmare, will all be available on the Xbox One.Maybe it’s time I bought myself an Xbox One.
