Gran Turismo Sport will debut fall 2017, intends to take the game back to its racing roots

It’s here, Gran Turismo Sport (GT Sport) is finally here. For fans of the sim-racing genre, few games excite as much passion as the Gran Turismo series. Gran Turismo Sport, the latest entrant in the franchise, is set to take the racing aspect of the games to new heights.Via a rather dramatically narrated trailer, Sony takes fans through the history of the franchise, pointing out that along the line “something changed”, where the game became more about collecting cars than competition. At E3 2017, Sony promises to change all of that. Sony now wants to “build something worth racing for.”
By the looks of it, the new game is going to be all about the sport of racing rather than the cars. “This isn’t about the game,” says Sony, “This is Sport!”As Gamespot points out, the game was originally slated for a 2016 release, but this was later pushed to fall 2017. Closed beta testing for the game appears to have started. If you're eligible, you can sign up for that here.Sony promises that the game will natively run at 4K and 60 fps on the PlayStation 4 Pro (PS4 Pro) and that it will support PSVR.Those who pre-order the game will receive a 3-car pack which includes a Ford Mustang Gr.B Rally Car, a Toyota FT-1 Vision Gran Turismo (Gr.3) car and a Peugeot 908 HDi FAP - Team Peugeot Total car. Pre-orders from GameStop will also receive a Chevrolet Corvette C7 Gr.3 and a Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 N24 Schulze Motorsport car.
