E3 2016: Pricing and gameplay demos of For Honor released by Ubisoft

For Honor was announced at E3 2015 and we’ve been waiting on tenterhooks ever since. The title looked incredible, the premise was promising and combat looked to be stellar. There was one caveat however, it was being developed by Ubisoft. At E3 2016, we got a glimpse of some actual gameplay and the results are almost exactly what we expected.First, check out this awesome cinematic trailer:Then this slightly less awesome gameplay demo:We only say less awesome because the cinematic trailer is, well, more cinematic. The gameplay looks to be a blast and you can tell that Ubisoft has put in a lot of effort into making the game atmospheric. The environments look incredible and very immersive.The combat also looks as visceral as we were hoping, but given that this is Ubisoft we’re talking about, some of Assassin’s Creed's dumbed down AI seems to have creeped in. What are we talking about? Just look at the combat. You lock onto one enemy and everyone else just kind of shuffles around till you’re done.Games like Dark Souls and even the Batman series ensure that combat is less, for lack of a better word, fair. We would have loved to see some real combat where managing hordes was as important as one on one fighting. It would have gone really well with the medieval theme.It’s still early days for the game though and even if the combat isn’t as fleshed out as I might hope, it looks very good.The game will release on February 14, 2017 and will be available on PS4, Xbox One and PC. Console versions will be priced at Rs 3,499 and can be pre-ordered today. As always, we’d suggest you wait till a few weeks after launch so Ubisoft can wake up and patch all the game-killing bugs that they tend to miss.If you do pre-order the game, you’re assured three exclusive Hero outfits as part of a “Legacy Battle Pack.”
