Revolt launches its three motocycles in India — RV400, RV400 base and the RV300

Revolt Motors have launched three all-electric motorcycles — RV400, RV400 base and the RV300, however, the ownership subscription cost starts at Rs 2,999 per month of 37 months.At the launch, the company has also unveiled the RV300 which sits below the RV400.Revolt RV400 premium — Rs 3,999 per monthRevolt RV400 base — Rs 3,499 per monthRevolt RV300 — Rs 2,999 per monthThe monthly subscription cost is for 37 months.The bike was showcased earlier and has finally gone on sale today though Revolt had started accepting bookings for it in Delhi and Pune two months back itself, shortly after showcasing it. With over 3,000 bookings received already the RV400 has certainly garnered a lot of interest — several other starts-ups have showcased production-ready electric motorcycles in the past but none have gone on sale yet, which has given Revolt the first-mover advantage.[caption id="attachment_7242661" align="alignnone" width="700"]

Image: Overdrive[/caption]The RV400 is a compact motorcycle intended for riding short distances, typically in the city and has been styled aggressively to look like a compact street bike. Interestingly, the RV400 is also the first electric motorcycle to receive an ARAI certified range which stands at an impressive 156km on a full charge.The battery pack is a 3.72 kWh lithium-ion unit that sits in place of what is the fuel tank on conventional motorcycles. It powers a 3kW mid-drive electric motor that drives the rear wheel via a belt drive. The battery is a removable one and can be detached and carried away for charging apart from which Revolt is also offering a standard charger.A dedicated smartphone app lets you stay connected to the motorcycle which uses an onboard SIM card for full-time internet connectivity. The app can remotely provide information about the bike's location, allow you to set a geofence, notify you if the motorcycle leaves the fenced area, provide information about charge status and the remaining range in all three riding modes and also let you customise the sounds the bike can emit via its onboard speaker to sound like a petrol engine powered motorcycle.You can also order a fully charged battery through the app which Revolt will deliver to a location of your choice. In terms of cycle parts the RV400 uses upside-down forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear along with an aluminium swingarm and bolt-on subframe. The bike runs on 17-inch wheels that are shod with MRF Zapper tyres. Kerb weight for the RV400 is a rather light 108kg, which is as much as automatic scooters like the Honda Activa.
