Ah, the luck!Craig Stapleton, a 51-year-old skydiver, survived despite a fall from 8,000 feet — after his parachute failed to open during a jump. The only injuries he suffered were a few bruises and a dislocated shoulder. Both his primary and backup parachutes failed, and the whole event was captured on video (see below).
He was quoted on ABCNews.com as saying: "I thought, 'God hates me.' I felt like nothing was going right here. I knew I was going to die. I thought, 'If I live through this, I'll have months of rehab.'"[caption id="attachment_667166" align="alignleft" width="380"]Reuters Representational image. That is still incredibly fast when you're hurtling towards the earth. The ground the grapes were growing in had recently been mulched, making his landing much softer than normal.
