Cricket turns violent: Bermuda brawl is ugliest, but here are some other famous fights

It was quite stunning to see cricket players swing bats and aim wild kicks at each other during a league match in Bermuda — resulting in one of their internationals being banned for life.[caption id="attachment_2443628" align="alignleft" width="380"] Miandad and Lillee go at each other. YouTube Screengrab[/caption]But while the 'Bermuda Brawl' was simply at another level, cricket has seen its fair of on-field fights.Denis Lillee vs Javed Miandad:As the commentator put it after the incident, Lillee 'asked for it' in this fight. The bowler backed into Miandad as he was completing a run and then according to the Pakistani, starting "abusing (Miandad) and using dirty words". Lillee then kicked out at Miandad after which the talismanic batsman threatened to hit him with his bat. The umpire and Greg Chappell quelled the fight soon after.Unknown match, unknown players:While the brawl in Bermuda happened during a proper league match between Cleveland County Cricket Club and Willow Cuts Cricket Club, this brawl in India happened in what looks like an amateur game. A batsman who was just dismissed took offence at a player's celebration and went to rough him up. Just when it seemed like everything would be okay due to other players interfering, an 'enthusiast' with the bowling team slaps the batsman on the back of the head triggering more fighting. Epic.Glenn McGrath vs Mathew Hayden: The two must have been teammates in the Australian first team for years, but when it comes to playing for different teams (Australia vs Australia A, as in this case) — they mince no words. Hayden went up and whispered something in McGrath's ears after which the bowler pushed him. It was over quite soon, thankfully.Andrew Symonds vs a streaker:This is a one-sided fight. A naked streaker running towards big burly Andrew Symonds (with his full batting gear), and landing on his back side after a mere shoulder flex from the Aussie.Mitchell Starc vs Kieron Pollard:First Starc sends in a bouncer and teases Pollard about missing it; then he bowls a delivery right into his body despite the West Indian leaving his stance due to some disturbance. Pollard, playing for Mumbai Indians, almost sent his bat whizzing towards Starc but thought the better of it — the bat eventually rolled away to his left.Shane Warne and Marlon SamuelsIn a tournament aptly named for on-field fights - Big Bash - Shane Warne, playing for Melbourne Stars, was involved in a spat with West Indies cricketer Marlon Samuels, who was batting for Melbourne Renegades. In Australia's version of the local derby, tempers flared between the two cricketers when Warne threw the ball at Marlon Samuels, with the batsman well within the crease. Samuels, who won the match if not the little scuffle, criticised Warne and retorted with this: "He's supposed to be a legend in Australia.
