The official Davis Cup dinner before India's world group play-off match against Spain turned into a celebration, as India's Saketh Myneni proposed to his girlfriend Sri Lakshmi Anumolu on Wednesday.Laksmi, a UPSC aspirant, agreed to Saketh's proposal with an "okay", the Hindustan Times reported.Saketh proposed in front of his team members, and the All India Tennis Association (AITA) decided to commemorate the joyous occasion with a cake. Saketh's teammate Leander Paes took to Twitter to wish the happy couple.Saketh has been on a remarkable run of late, including qualification for the main round of the US Open, the first time he qualified for the main draw of a Grand Slam.He also came close to a first round win, and was just one point away from victory against Czech Jiri Vesely. However, he was unable to capatalise on it and was hampered by cramps late in the fifth set. His major appearance helped him achieve a career-high ranking of 137.He, along with Ramkumar Ramnathan, will take on 14-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal and World No 13 David Ferrer in the singles rubbers of the Davis Cup world group play-off tie.French Open doubles champions Feliciano Lopez and Mark Lopez are likely to represent the five-time winners in the doubles rubber. For India, Leander could partner with Saketh, captain Anand Amritraj hinted on Tuesday.The tie will be played from 16 to 18 September under floodlights at the RK Khanna Tennis Stadium in New Delhi.
