Hailed back home! HPCA applaud Anurag Thakur's elevation to BCCI President's post
Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) on Sunday hailed the elevation of BJP Member of Parliament Anurag Thakur to the coveted post of BCCI president and said it was a great honour for the state.

Image courtesy- PTI[/caption]Thakur was elected an MP from Hamirpur in the by-election in 2008 caused by resignation of his father P K Dhumal, who became chief minister in December 2007, and retained the seat in 2009 and 2014."It is a moment of great joy for the hilly state of Himachal which sees its youth icon in yet another role at the top level and has added another feather to his cap with his hard work and determination," said HPCA press secretary Mohit Sood.He claimed that the state cricket association under the dynamic leadership of Thakur established five world class stadiums at Dharamshala, Amtar, Bilaspur, Una and Pragatinagar Gumma, and Dharamshala cricket ground has been recognized as one of the best in the world.The BJP leaders, including state president Satpal Singh Satti, and BJYM have also hailed the elevation of Thakur as BCCI president and congratulated him."We hope that the cricket in India will scale greater heights with Thakur's vision and leadership," they said, adding that Dharamshala cricket stadium was reflection of Thakur's vision, dynamism and zeal.Union Health and Family Welfare Minister from Himachal, JP Nadda also congratulated Thakur on becoming BCCI President.
