Modi in Alwar: At every election, Gujarat is cited as the example

Continuing his attack against the UPA government at the Centre, and today also against the Congress government in Rajasthan, Narendra Modi said all politicians debating on development are now forced to give the example of Gujarat, making his state a kind of benchmark for development.  "Wherever the election, the discussion always cites the Gujarat example," he said.[caption id="attachment_123765" align="alignleft" width="380"] Narendra Modi at a previous rally. PTI[/caption]He accused the Rajasthan government of harassing tribal people, not providing clean drinking water, while drawing comparisons with drinking water lines in Gujarat stretching all the way to villages along the border with Pakistan. "Those pipelines are so big, Mr Gehlot," he said addressing the Rajasthan chief minister, "that you can take your family in a Maruti car and drive through these pipelines."He also attacked the state government for its poor performance on social indicators including female foeticide and communal riots.He also spoke of funds stashed away in foreign banks and asked why the government was not bringing back black money into the country and seeking accountability for this money.Repeating a line he took in Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh, on Monday, Modi predicted that the  Congress would  not survive the general elections of 2014. "Bring the BJP to government in the state, and then six months later also to the Centre," he said.
