Mayawati's masterstroke only rivaled by Laxman knock
Today is all about blindsiding your opposition - be it on the political pitch or the cricket pitch

[/caption]This mornings newsmakers, Mayawati and Laxman are both making headlines because of their wonderful masterstrokes. Mayawati's announcement that she proposed the division of Uttar Pradesh into four smaller parts is a tactic that has essentially blind sided her opposition and is likely to take focus away from the issues of misgovernance and corruption that have been raised by her challengers. On the cricket pitch Very Very Special Laxman did his bit to blindside the opposition by scoring a masterful 176* against the West Indies on Tuesday. The knock has also made him the highest run scorer at Eden Gardens, and the first Indian batsmen to get so many runs in a single venue. The other story is the drafting of the Lokpal bill and some hints that the powers of the CBI will be divided and put under the ambit of the Lokpal. Listen now:
