Kejriwal's resignation has helped AAP's poll prospects: Survey

PTI[/caption]Despite reports indicating that AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal may have lost much of his goodwill owing to his politics of dharna and his premature resignation, an opinion poll conducted by the Hansa Research agency for NDTV found that it is the Aam Aadmi Party that is likely to return to power if Assembly elections are held in the national capital right away.The opinion poll was conducted using the "street corner methodology", said a report. An incredible 59 percent said AAP would return to power if elections are held today, while only seven percent of the respondents believed that a hung Assembly could be repeated.Kejriwal himself got the people's thumbs-up: 36 per cent said his performance as chief minister was very good and another 35 percent said it was good.Nine percent even said Kejriwal's resignation had improved his party's prospects in the Lok Sabha elections.Incidentally, only on Sunday, Kejriwal slammed the media and its opinion polls, claiming these were all motivated. Money changes hands behind these surveys, he alleged. A previous poll, conducted by IPSOS for ABP News soon after Kejriwal's resignation, also found that AAP was likely to win about two-thirds of votes in the re-election to the Assembly and also a comfortable majority of votes from Delhi at the Lok Sabha election.
