Kam bola, kaam bola: PM Manmohan lists UPA achievements on Twitter

When it comes to Twitter, let's face it -- Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's account doesn't really cause much of a stir other than the politically correct announcements of what the government is up to.Wednesday, however, was different for the @PMOIndia Twitter account with some fiery tweets. The PM today tweeted some facts about how the current UPA government had done some great work, with a number of fact sheet cards. And while you are likely to ignore what looks like another round of boring numbers, you can't ignore the tagline the PM used: Kam bola, Kaam bola. In the last days of the UPA,  the PMO clearly decided to take on all those critics who have accused him of remaining silent on key issues.Given that the Election Commission has just announced the dates for the election, the timing of the PM's statement can't be overlooked either -- the tweets came minutes before the EC press conference. Manmohan Singh will not be PM again, but he certainly wanted to drive home a point about what work the UPA II has done.[caption id="attachment_1419265" align="alignleft" width="380"]

AFP[/caption]It should be noted that this isn't the first time that PM has taken on those who have questioned his silence, except that this is a first on social media. When the UPA II government faced heat during the coalscam, the Prime Minister was quoted as saying in the Rajya Sabha, "Hazaron jawabo se achchi hai khamoshi meri, na jaane kitne sawalo ki aabru rakhe. (My silence is better than a thousand answers, it keeps intact the honour of innumerable questions). "He had added then, "It has been my general practice not to respond to motivated criticism directed personally at me."The latest tweets try and take on social media commentors, where Singh has been often the butt of jokes and much scathing criticism. Using the 'Kam bola kaam bola' tagline might not impress many on Twitter, given that some are questioning if the PM was trolling all his critics. But still, the account shows some signs of life.The fact that it might be too late is, of course another question.Check out Manmohan Singh's tweets below:
