Indo-Pak series must be stopped after Malik's 'insults': BJP

BJP's Yashwant Sinha, on Monday, said outside Parliament that the India-Pakistan series should be cancelled after the comments Rehman Malik made while he was on a 'diplomatic' mission.Sinha said, "Rahman Malik came to India and made all sorts of comments against India, which shows there is no point in talks with Pakistan."[caption id="attachment_560371" align="alignleft" width="380"] AFP[/caption]In the Lok Sabha, Sinha demanded that no talks should be held with Pakistan till the culprits of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks and its prime conspirator Saeed were handed over to India by Islamabad.Maintaining that Malik’s statements during the visit had “hurt the prestige of the country”, he attacked Shinde for not countering his Pakistani counterpart and remaining "silent" during the entire period.While Sinha slammed Malik, Congress MP Rajiv Shukla said, "Don't mix cricket with politics. The cricket series with Pakistan will go on."Rehman Malik, since he landed in India, has made headlines with his controversial comments on various issues.About Babri he said, "Terrorism brings grief, we do not want a 9/11, Bombay blast, Samjhauta Express blast, Babri Mosque demolition."One the same day when asked about Saurabh Kalia he had said, "When a fight is going on at the border, we really don’t know whether he was killed with a Pakistani bullet or he died because of the weather."He also said that Pakistan was “still waiting” for sufficient evidence against LeT founder Hafiz Saeed in the Mumbai attack case, despite India’s repeated insistence that enough corroboration was provided to it, adding that the confession by gunman Ajmal Kasab was not good enough.Explaining comments he made after landing in New Delhi Friday evening, which were widely reported by the Indian media, Malik later told the NDTV news channel that he “had never compared” terror attacks with the 6 December, 1992 mosque demolition.Clarifying his remarks on Kalia, that were interpreted as dismissive, Malik said he had been "totally misquoted" and that he did not know "too much of the incident".Sinha's demands that the cricket series be cancelled were also echoed by AIADMK MP Venkiah Naidu.
