Arvind Kejriwal is off to find himself again, this time with vipassana

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is a busy man, what with running a state government, bailing out party members and Parliamentary Secretaries, wooing Navjot Singh Sidhu and launching new attacks on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. If he chooses to spend the next 10 days at a meditation centre in Dharamsala, a little 'Eat Pray And Love' style, some would say he has earned it.Kejriwal arrived at a vipassana or meditation centre in Dharamkot, upper Dharamsala on Monday for a 10-day session. But before that, he ensured that he took one last dig at the BJP government and Anandiben Patel's resignation.During this period, Kejriwal will not be allowed to take up any official work and will not have access to newspapers, television and any other form of media. This would certainly be a challenge for the chief minister, who has a flair for the dramatic. Reuters[/caption]Pawan Sharma, in-charge of the vipassana centre, said Kejriwal would be briefed about his daily routines on Monday, and the course would start on Tuesday morning, and continue till 11 August evening.The centre in-charge said that Kejriwal will have to follow the schedule and will not be allowed to interact with the other participants. They can only direct their questions to their teacher at specified intervals.During the course Kejriwal would stay without his staff."Nobody would be allowed to meet Kejriwal during the course. Even his security would not stay with him at the centre," Sharma added.The participants will be served simple meals, comprising rice and dal. According to the Himachal Vipassana Centre, the 10-day course is an introductory one to vipassana where the technique is taught step-by-step every day.Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia will be in-charge of the government till then.This is, however, not the first time that the AAP leader has taken some "me time". In March 2015, he had gone for a similar session after hectic campaigning for Lok Sabha elections in May 2014. He had gone to a naturopathy institute on the outskirts of Bengaluru for a 10-day treatment of his persistent chronic cough problem and other ailments.Kejriwal, who suffers from chronic cough and asthma, was in fact advised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to go for holistic treatment, according to The Economic Times .Though not much is known about chief ministers going on a break when in office, Kejriwal has time and again proved that he likes to do things differently. The only other politician whose holidays are as widely speculated about is Rahul Gandhi's. While Kejriwal goes through vipassana, in his absence the nation can only ruminate on what fresh drama a rejuvenated Kejriwal will unleash.With inputs from agencies
