More power to women: The brides who called off their weddings with aplomb

Here are some of the women who bravely cancelled their weddings when they found out their groom-to-be's behaviour to be improper.

In what's growing to be a trend in India, another woman refused to tie the knot with a man after she found him drunk at their wedding ceremony in Kanpur.Sajeti, a resident of Sighaul village, called off her wedding to Surendra Tiwari, reported India Today.Police said that the man, along with his friends, arrived at the venue in an inebriated condition and was unable to control himself which caused the bride to call off the marriage."The groom's side tried to convince the bride, but she remained determined on her stand," police added.But this is not the first time such an incident has taken place in India.Bride marries guest after groom has fitAfter her husband-to-be had an epileptic fit at the wedding ceremony, the bride Indira, angry that her family had not been informed about the groom Kishore's medical condition, changed her mind about marrying him, according to a report in The Times of India.
