In a quest for religious tolerance, a Muslim professor is taking people out for pork lunch

In wake of the Dadri lynching and growing atmosphere of intolerance in the country, a Muslim professor is inviting people out for lunch to eat pork as a sample of 'democracy, choices and humane, friendly behaviour'.[caption id="attachment_2462412" align="alignleft" width="380"] Picture courtesy: Ashley Np Facebook[/caption]Ashley Np, a professor at Delhi's St Stephen's college made a post on Facebook on Monday where he said that although he doesn't eat pork for 'religious, cultural and personal reasons', he believes that people who do, should be allowed to.Islam forbids Muslims from eating pork.He extended his invitation to anyone who would care to join him, regardless to whether he knew them or not. Of all the people replying, he will take the first five out for lunch."I know eating pork is not banned anywhere in India. Nor has anyone got beaten to death for it. But it is good to give some of these people a sample of democracy, choices and humane, friendly behaviour," he wrote.Ashley said that he came up with this idea after he heard of the beef festivals being held in the country to protest the tragic lynching in Dadri,  reports the HuffPost India. Here is his original post:
