Fake Zomato post asks employees to send 'sick selfies'

Reuters[/caption]However, Zomato took the selfie-taking culture to another level when they started the practice of 'sick selfies' where an employee has to send one to prove that they are actually ill if they wanted the day off.This practice began when a woman employee from Zomato Lebanon accidentally sent a selfie to the entire team at her workplace, even though she was just supposed to send a simple email explaining she was sick, according to a Zomato blogpost.The team members responded in a hilarious way, by sending selfies of their own, a practice which became so popular in the company that it started the new policy of sending "sick selfies".It is, of course, one of the most unique workplace policies we have come across. But we also can't help but wonder if employees suffering from conjunctivitis or chicken pox or any disease causing them to look like a zombie straight out of Michael Jackson's Thriller video would be eager enough to share their distress by sending a selfie to each and every team member at the workplace.Moreover, we can also imagine an employee taking a selfie with thermometer in mouth while lying in bed under the sheets at the time of clicking the selfie and jumping out of bed to party after their evil plan to fake sickness could not even be stopped by the "sick selfie" practice.
