Assam minister to file defamation suit against Sudipta Sen

Following allegations in a letter by Saradha chit fund boss Sudipta Sen alleging him of taking money, Assam Health and Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today decided to file a defamation suit against the chit fund scam kingpin.[caption id="attachment_731323" align="alignleft" width="380"]

"I will do that. Tomorrow my legal notice will go," Sarma tweeted out.

"I have faced many allegation in life and came out of it. A motivated allegation will not demoralize me at all. My conscience is clear," he said.

Meanwhile, Akhil Gogoi-led Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti demanded the dismissal of the minister from the Assam cabinet and his arrest besides calling for a thorough CBI inquiry into the chit fund scam.

Many small investors in Assam and West Bengal became bankrupt after the Saradha group went bust.
