Will 1990's movie Ambedkar finally release?

Thrissur, Kerala: Noted Malayalam actor Innocent, the first film personality from Kerala to enter the lower house of Parliament, today said he would explore all avenues to ensure the release of the 1990's film 'Ambedkar', in which Mammootty has essayed the lead role.[caption id="attachment_1535103" align="alignleft" width="380"] A scene from the movie Ambedkar. People of the country have a right to know why it was not done despite so much money being spent," he said.Speaking at a press meet at Thrissur Press Club, he saidthe main objective of making such a film was to promote art and artistes and added that he would try his best to ensure that the film gets released.Innocent, the CPI-M backed Independent candidate fromChalakudy constituency, had done a giant killing act in the Lok Sabha polls, defeating senior Congress leader P C Chacko, who was Chairman of the Joint Parliamentary Committee which probed the 2G scam.To a query on what his attitude was towards the newlyelected BJP led NDA government, he said the need of the hour was to support a leadership which did good things for the welfare of the people of the country, irrespective ofpolitical affiliations.Gone were the days when one opposed a government which didgood things, just for the sake of opposing it, he said, adding such a practice was not healthy for the future of the country.PTI
