Watch: PM Modi plays 'dhol' during Bihu celebrations organised by Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 23 April, 2022, attended a Rongali Bihu event organised by Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal at his residence here.Modi watched a Bihu dance and folk-dance fusion performed by artistes from Assam and other programmes for over an hour. He also interacted with the artists and other guests.Later, in a tweet, the prime minister said, "Joined the Bihu celebrations at the residence of my ministerial colleague Sarbananda Sonowal Ji. India is proud of the vibrant culture of Assam."The Rongali Bihu, which coincides with the Assamese new year, is celebrated from 14 April, 2022, for a week.The attendance of Modi in the Bihu function organised by Sonowal at his residence bears significance.Sonowal appreciated the prime minister for attending the function and said it reflected his love for the Assamese people and their culture."I am grateful to the prime minister for his kind presence at the Bihu function and his blessings.
