Uttarakhand floods: Andhra Pradesh announces Rs 10 crore aid

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh today announced a Rs 10 crore financial assistance to the Uttarakhand government for relief and rehabilitation works in the calamity-hit hill state. The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams will spend another Rs 40 crore on construction of pilgrim amenities complexes at Kedarnath, Badrinath, Yamunotri and Gangotri. Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, who held a high-level review meeting in Hyderabad today with chief secretary PK Mohantry and other officials, also announced an ex gratia payment of Rs 5 lakh each to the families of Andhra Pradesh pilgrims killed in the Uttarakhand floods.[caption id="attachment_915899" align="alignleft" width="380"]

Image courtesy PIB[/caption]This will be in addition to the ex gratia already announced by the Centre and other agencies, a press release from the Chief Minister's Office said.The chief minister announced an ex gratia payment of Rs 5 lakh each, house sites at their native places and employment to the eligible kin of armed forces jawans Yadaiah and Vinayakam who were killed in terrorists' attack in Jammu-Kashmir and helicopter crash during the Uttarakhand rescue operations, respectively.
