Uttar Pradesh rains: Ganga, Sharda and Rapti in spate in various places

AFP.[/caption]Mohamadabad and Bijnore received six cm rains each, while Varanasi and Bareilly both gauged 5 cm of rainfall, the meteorological department said.Chunar, Sahaswan, Baghpat, Atrauli received four cm rains each while Kaiamganj, Najibabad, Narora and Hamirpur recorded three cm of precipitation each.According to the Central Water Commission, the Ganga river was flowing just under the red mark at Fatehgarh and was maintaining a rising trend between Allahabad and Varanasi.The Sharda river was flowing well above the danger mark at Palia Kalan and was rising. It was flowing near the red mark at Shardanagar, Central Water Commission officials said.The Ghaghra river has crossed the red mark at Elgin Bridge and was flowing near the danger mark at Ayodhya and Turtipar, they said, adding the Rapti river too was flowing near the red mark at Balrampur.
