UP Couple dies by suicide after neighbours gangraped wife

A 30-year-old daily wage labourer and his 27-year-old wife died by suicide in Basti after consuming poison, leaving behind a distressing video in which they accused their neighbours of assaulting the wife. The grieving family has filed a formal complaint with the police, providing them with the video as evidence. As a result, two suspects were apprehended by the authorities on Friday.The police report indicates that the couple recorded a video on their mobile phone, instructing their younger son to present it to the police after their unfortunate demise. In this video, they made grave allegations that two of their neighbours had sexually assaulted the wife during the night of September 20 and 21.Additionally, the couple expressed in the video that they felt compelled to take such a drastic step due to the fear of social disgrace. Following the incident, the couple was rushed to a local health centre, where medical professionals subsequently referred them to the district hospital.
