Trainer aircraft crash-lands in UP's Kasganj during solo flight; trainee pilot safe

A trainer aircraft operated by Chetak Aviation crash-landed in a field in Uttar Pradesh's Kasganj on Monday during a solo training flight, with the trainee pilot escaping unharmed, according to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

The aircraft, a Cessna 152 bearing registration VT-AFB, had taken off from Aligarh and was engaged in a solo flying exercise when the incident took place.

"Chetak Aviation Cessna 152 aircraft VT-AFB engaged in solo flying at Aligarh has crash landed in a field in Kasganj. She (pilot) is reported to be safe," the DGCA said in a statement.

The aviation regulator said it has launched an investigation into the incident to determine the cause of the crash-landing.
