Should Kejriwal resign as CM if arrested in liquor 'scam' case? AAP to seek public opinion from 1 December

Delhi minister and AAP's city convener Gopal Rai on Thursday said the party would launch a signature drive from 1-20 December to receive opinions on whether Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal should step down in the event that he is arrested under a "conspiracy by the BJP."Addressing a press conference along with party MP Raghav Chadha, Rai said Kejriwal held a meeting with party MLAs to discuss how to respond to conspiracies being hatched to get the CM arrested under the "fake" liquor scam case with the hope of finishing the Aam Aadmi Party."CM Arvind Kejriwal held a meeting with party MLAs to discuss how to respond to the conspiracies being hatched against AAP government in Delhi and what to do if he (Arvind Kejriwal) is arrested. MLAs proposed that even if he is arrested, the government should run from jail, and he should not resign. We will ask them," said the Delhi minister.Rai said under the "Mai Bhi Kejriwal' campaign from Friday, AAP volunteers will carry pamphlets to get the signatures of the people at all the 2,600 polling stations across the city, asking for their opinion on whether Kejriwal should step down as Delhi chief minister if he is arrested.He also said that from 21-24 December, the AAP will hold 'Jan Samvad' in every ward of the city to discuss the alleged liquor scam with people as well as "the BJP's conspiracy to get Kejriwal arrested and seek their opinion if he should resign as Delhi chief minister if arrested.Earlier this month, the Enforcement Directorate had summoned Kejriwal for questioning in a money laundering case linked to the alleged excise policy scam. Kejriwal skipped appearing before the ED and demanded that it should withdraw its notice, claiming it was "illegal and politically motivated".With inputs from agencies
