Mumbai: Six people killed, three injured in Eastern Freeway accident

Mumbai: Six people were killed and three others injured when a taxi they were travelling in turned upside down on the Eastern Freeway at Wadi Bunder junction towards south Mumbai here on Saturday morning, officials said.[caption id="attachment_3089982" align="alignleft" width="380"] The taxi that met with an accident at Wadi Bunder Junction. Image Courtesy Sanjay Sawant[/caption]The accident occurred around 9 am and severely hit the morning peak hour traffic towards the central business districts and other parts of the city.The six people who died are Rajkumar Verma (8), Anantra Verma (35), Harkesh Verma M (45), Rajshree Verma (35), Ragini Verma (20) and Asha Verma (12), while the three injured were identified as Vinay Verma (21), Ravi Verma (14) and  taxi driver Mangru Verma (35).The DCP of Mumbai Ashok Dudhe told Firstpost that a case will be registered against the driverThe injured were rushed to Sir JJ Hospital for treatment and the cause of the accident is being probed by Dongri Police.With inputs from IANS
