Mumbai local murder case: Accused Sachin Ramesh Suvarna taken into custody

A minor argument aboard a Mumbai local train during heavy rain turned violent, resulting in one passenger being fatally stabbed. The incident took place on the Churchgate–Nallasopara Fast Local (Train No. 90663) near Andheri.

Speaking to ANI, Western Railway Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) Vineet Abhishek said, "At around 11:04 pm., we received information about the incident. Within two to three minutes of the train's arrival at Borivali station, dedicated teams from the GRP, RPF, and medical response unit reached the coach."

Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident. With all medical facilities readily available, the injured passenger was deboarded and immediately rushed to the emergency medical room. However, despite prompt medical attention, the passenger who had sustained stab injuries succumbed to his wounds.

Preliminary reports suggest that an altercation broke out over closing the train doors due to the heavy rain, which subsequently escalated into a violent confrontation and stabbing.  A few hours into the investigation Police have now arrested the accused in the Mumbai local train stabbing case. The suspect, identified as Sachin Ramesh Suvarna, allegedly stabbed a fellow passenger following an argument over closing the train door during heavy rain. The victim later succumbed to his injuries, while the investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
